Irvine Sensors confirms $11.4m from investors

Irvine Sensors Corporation has announced that it has closed an initial $11.4 million tranche of a financing. The tranche consists of a sale of approximately 51.8 million shares of common stock for approximately $3.6 million ($0.07 per share), and approximately $7.8 million of five-year notes bearing simple interest of 12% per annum. Irvine Sensors has agreed to seek stockholder authority to increase its authorized capital structure to allow the notes to be converted into common stock, also at $0.07 per share, and should that authority be granted, Irvine Sensors will have the right to force conversion of the notes after two (2) years if the Company's common stock has traded at or above $0.25 per share or more for 30 days.

The round will fuel 3VR's continued development of its industry-leading intelligent video search and analytics technologies, as well as its expansion into global markets. This funding is the culmination of a record year for the company, in which it also expanded its leadership team with the addition of Aisling MacRunnels as its new chief marketing officer. MacRunnels joins 3VR from Sun Microsystems, recently acquired by Oracle, where she was senior vice president of software marketing.

Meebo announces $27.5m in Series D funding

Online sharing platform Meebo has announced that it has closed a $27.5 million Series D round of funding, led by Khosla Ventures. Existing investors Sequoia Capital, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Time Warner and JAFCO also participated. The funds will support the acceleration of Meebo's growth and further development of Meebo's web check-ins, which enable Web visitors to check in to their favorite sites and share online discoveries with friends or people with similar interests.

MMC Ventures investes £1.5m in AlexandAlexa

Cloud Engine confirms $15m funding

Cloud Engine have announced $15 million in financing from new investors Softbank Capital and Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners (AIP) and existing investor Foundry Group. The capital will be used to continue to expand the global distribution of the Pogoplug service and devices.
